A house for young ladies, rejected by their families or living in extreme poverty, where they can have a new start at life. They will be invited into the house to live as members of the family as they acquire skills in caring for a home, gardening, learning English, and refining their gifts and abilities. As they live in this house they will discover their dreams and desires for their future. Eventually they will have the opportunity to secure jobs, pay rent, and start a savings account. These steps of faithfulness and good stewardship will lead them to the ultimate step of going out into the world on their own with new skills, discipline, a passion for life, and the determination to disciple others.
Madeline grew up in a home without real love. Her dad always traveled to the province for work and women. When he came home, he brought his anger with him and made life miserable for everyone. He was a drunk. A mean drunk. He told Madeline how much he hated her and wanted her gone. He often told her to sell herself into prostitution and give the money to him for alcohol. Madeline was abused verbally and emotionally at home. She was abused sexually by an older man she trusted. She felt unloved and without value. She was desperately without hope. Madeline was given a chance to start a new life with a new family. In the past three years, Madeline has gotten her associates degree in HotelRestaurantManagement, completed a year of work experience at a popular coffee shop chain, and is now pursuing her degree in Psychology. Madeline's life now has a purpose because of a family that gave her a home. This is the goal of Bahay ng Pag-ibig, to raise girls like Madeline and to train and support other families/ministries to do the same.
There are thousands of girls like Madeline in the Philippines, who are looking for a second chance at life.
